2018-7-30 · At 18,000 RPM (Formula One) the horizontal shake frequency is 600 Hz. (2 x 18000 / 60) while at 9000 RPM (IRL) the frequency is 300 Hz. The amplitude is proportional to the magnitude of the secondary piston acceleration. This shake can become a major concern for designers of the chassis (or airframe) and the bits that attach to the engine.
